Tamil cinema., man.. oh man..

Last night., after a wonderful day of beach and biriyani., I was sitting down for a quick dinner at home. Some movie was on one of the cable channels.

Our hero in the movie fights with a whole bunch of bad guys. The bad guys keep pouring from every possible hole in the arena. And., our hero kicks/punches/throws them in every possible direction. For every bad guy that gets thrown in the air., the frame is frozen and taken around 180 degrees. Then finally., our hero sort of goes down., when all the bad guys pile up over him one over the other. And., our man (the hero), breathes deep and throws away all the bad guys piled up on him.

Nope., wrong guess. It is not the Matrix. Its is a Tamil movie called 'anniyan'. When will these guys ever grow up?? Hmm... :-S

I saw that movie.. In theatre!!
& umm... yesterday too.. :P

Me & a friend were laughing our asses off at the terribly badly choreographed stunt sequences..
It's almost as if they'd just made the 100's of Agent Smith's in the movie wear karate outfits.. So pathetic!
& the worst bit was when he bashed up highly trained martial artists because he had MPD..
(Since when did Multiple Personality Disorder give you super-powers? Poor Gollum/Smeagol sure didn't have any!)

Damn! If I had MPD, I'm pretty sure with a lil effort, I could probably fly..
Damnit! I WANT MPD!!!! NOW!!

@parvathi: Uh!! the chinese man?? No idea., I saw only that karate-clothed fight scene. LOL. I figured reading 'the week' would be a lot better than that silly movie. :D

@ LOL., exactly.. They just replaced agent smiths with indian men wearing karate outfit. LOL., it was hilarious.. :D

@priya: LOL.. you actually went to the theatre?? I hardly spend on theatres. If at all I spend., I'll never spend it on a tamil movie.. Not worth taking a chance..

Most of the movies are crap with old age heroes and tiny tot ladies. Anniyan was popular for the songs and I did watch it at home. Damn, real psycho:-))

Hey I too watched it yesterday... I found out that it was not matrix when you mentioned about the 180 degrees camera frozen stunt :)
Accept all what you have said... but the worst of all I felt was when all the karate guys and the hero climbs one floor just by swinging their hands and legs in the air... really pathetic shot...

@kausikram: Well., whatever mix it was., it was still getting everybody to gag-puke-gag-puke.. :P

@justme: And., my sis fills me in that it was box office hit.. equates to the quality of tamil audience.

@ashok: Well., i'm still thinking whether i should try another indian movie. 'gazni' came with a lot of recommendation., only to figure it was a sad rip-off of 'memento'. hmm...

@priya: LOL.. yeah., vijaykanth for example.. LOL. The heroine looked a bit hot.. I did not have my specs on., so cannot really be conclusive.. :P

@kk: LOL.. I was laughing my ass off at the entire fight scene. And thats all that I watched in that movie.. :D

@arpita: LOL.. actually I did not. Just that dinner time coincided with the movie's fight scene time. Well., right after the fight was over., i returned back to my computer :P

anniyan is good entertainment movie.. dont find logic in that fighting scene...

the full movie is good entertainer, you will not feel boring for single scene in that movie...

despite shankar choosing same story baseline..

PS: if u r not liking tamil movies then u cannot like movies

@anonymous: Well., I've seen quite a lot of movies. But blatantly copying from another movie is just lame. And., copying from something like the 'matrix' shows how lame the makers are.
